Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. For starters, my name is Darlene and I am a massage therapist and health educator. I had the privilege and honor to graduate from the National Holistic Institute, Core 900 hour program- a well known and highly praised school of massage therapy. I am also proud to say that I have served our country and am a United States Air Force veteran. In the military, I received training to the equivalent of an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B). Learning about the human body, how it functions, and the importance of self-care in the military, was absolutely fascinating. After a few years since leaving the military, I incurred a significant ankle injury that required surgical repair and intense physical therapy sessions. It was not until then when my physical therapist recommended that I receive a massage to help with recovery and to aid in my mobility. I have never had a massage before in my life; so, naturally, I was a little skeptical and hesitant to book myself a massage. However, it was definitely the BEST decision I had ever made. Allow me to ellaborate.
Massage helped with the physical healing process, my mobility of the surrounding joints, and my overall well-being: body, mind, and spirit. Recovering from surgery, or any other ailment, can be very difficult and have a negative impact on your overall wellness. Not only am I firm believer in the power of massage and all of its benefits, I am walking, breathing, living proof. This is why I have grown more and more passionate about massage - giving and receiving. Clients have told me that they can feel a strong passion through my work, compared to when they have seen other therapists who basically work to make a living. The biggest difference there is the fact that they work to make the money while I work to make a difference. Come in and experince it for yourself!
